London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016-17:House of Holland
The mash-ups came thick and fast. Sequinned mini dresses with dangling gem-fringed hems were worn with sparkling fishnets and stomping Rocket Man disco boots; rubber-coated lace dresses in lurid red were juxtaposed with leopard print wrap mini dresses and skintight polka dot numbers worn with paste chokers. It wouldn't be a Holland show without a kitsch repeating print - step up the humble jellyfish, appliquéd on sequinned-hemmed pencil skirts and psychedelic shirts, wrap black mini dresses and little cropped jackets.
Sam Rollinson in a gold kimono suit with satin lapels, cinched at the waist and worn with a high-necked polka dot sheer top, got the party girl FROW (Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe- you know the drill) snapping and smiling, as did the backless sequinned navy and silver slip dress. They knocked back the champagne and cheered with genuine gusto as Holland came for his bow. A sample or two may go missing from backstage this evening if their reaction was anything to go by. After all, there's myriad parties to hit up this evening.
