New York, NY, September 12th, 2016 - Australian Native, Blake Hyland made his New York Fashion Week debut this past Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at The Highline Loft. Though this is Hyland’s first time showing at New York Fashion Week, it is his 3rd collection. For the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, entitled, “Equality," Hyland explored the balance of black and white and the spaces in between them in his. Drawing inspiration from the grey space between the colors, and playing with the the concept of shapes and minimalism. The collection is an assortment of statement pieces, minimalist and symmetrical.
For the models, hair stylist Laurent Duforug created a minimal tasseled look for the models, flattening the hair at the crown and sweeping the bangs in front of the face. Key makeup artist, Sharon Becker, kept the makeup natural by featuring select models with tribal stripes over their lips. In-house photographer, Dan Lecca, started the night off by snapping first-looks and back of house photographs before moving to the riser with videographer, John Mastriano.
